every key stroke has a consequence
This morning on Canada AM, there was a segment on Cyber Safety. The website they were discussing is www.cybertip.ca. What do you know about being safe on the internet? Research cyber safety during class today and post informative sites here. When you post a link, make sure that you have copied the URL address correctly! Add a little information about the site, such as the title and what you thought was good about it.
We will making a list of sites and critiquing the information found there.

This website is fully dedicated to keeping kids safe on the internet and through other forms of technology. The website was created in 2004 by Rob Nickel.
The Cyber Safety Mission:
Our mission is to educate world wide communities, and give them the tools needed to keep children protected while online. To achieve our mission we are focused on three key strategies:
Deliver operational excellence by building partnerships with companies and corporations with superior products and services, as well as a high standard of business ethics, and community involvement.
Education through printed material, software products as well as appearances on mainstream media outlets throughout the world on Internet Safety.
Financially assist and bring awareness to organizations that directly impact child welfare
I like this website because it is easy to understand and it helps kids deal with some of their problems with cyber bullying and stuff like that. They have created a really good website to help keep kids safe online.

On this site I found some helpful tips to ensure cyber safety.
1) Never agree to meet face to face with someone you’ve met onine.
2) Explore the internet with your parents. Visit sites that are school appropriate.
3) Never give out your name, address, telephone number, school name, parents name, or any other personal information
4) Let your parents know immediately if you find something scary or threatening on the internet.
5) Never enter an area that charges for services without asking your parents if it is O.K.
