You have a choice of writing prompts today.  Choose only one to write about for today’s class.  Complete this assignment using Microsoft Word and attach it using email and send your story to me at the end of class.  Watch the clock and manage your time wisely!  I look forward to reading your stories.

Here are your choices
1. Imagine you had a hundred dollars, but you couldn’t keep it.  You had to give it away to a person or charity.  Who would you give it to?  What would you want them to do with it?

2. If you could cook any meal for your family, what would you cook?  Describe the meal and tell how you would make it. 

3. If you could have lunch with any famous person who would it be?  What would you talk about with this person?

You now have a due date for your projects…..February 12.  I have posted the presentation schedule in the LA LAB, see me ASAP if you have not signed up yet.
After Feb 11, there will not be a scheduled class to work on your projects but if you ask me in advance, and nicely….I may consider opening the lab during recesses.  Use your time wisely! And as always, I am here to help you!

The winter weather has plumeted  Swan River and the surrounding area into a deep freeze.  This morning it read -38 degrees on the outside thermometer and
-40 degrees in the truck, with the windchill it was -46.  C-O-L-D !   The buses aren’t running and I think I started the day with 6 students in my homeroom class.  So what are we doing at school?  “Study hall” for catch up work, extra gym time, reading, technology sessions, movies….what could be better?  For those of you checking this from where you are, what are you doing with your winter weather day?

I have received emails from most of you this week regarding your projects, you seem to be finished your research and starting to create your “teaching projects”.  Don’t forget to create your quiz and answer key for the presentation component!  I will be meeting with you individually during the last week of January and first week of February to set a firm date for your finished presentation.  Remember, I am only an email away!  Keep working hard!

8C & 8D computer classes should have emailed me by the end of this week to let me know the subject and topic of your new powerpoint project.  Remember to use the BIG 6 organizer to help guide your research and don’t forget to take detailed notes for your bibliography.  I have not set a due date yet.  Enjoy the weekend!
